Deep-Diving into AI and Industry 4.0

Deep-Diving into AI & Industry 4.0

AI undoubtedly has a revolutionary impact on all industries. The most critical component of Industry 4.0 is data, and AI is the enabling technology for that. However, what do you do with it, what are you looking for, and what do you want to achieve? It is essential to focus first on identifying your business problems and then, secondly, look at whether AI technology can help you solve it. The November 24 webcast about Deep-diving into AI & Industry 4.0 provides you more insights by, e.g., showing practical AI-applications from a business and technical viewpoint.

From Digital Agility to Digital Resilience

Marc Teerlink from SAP presents ‘From Digital Agility to Digital Resilience: How Artificial Intelligence is impacting how we work and interact digitally with our customers?’

The year 2020

2020 has rapidly become a pivotal year with a pandemic that has challenged business processes, and our over-efficient economic systems redefined geopolitical change and raised climate awareness. Additionally, it exposed us to the untamed impact of data, algorithms, and fake news on our society like never before. We know that this situation is unprecedented and has created significant challenges for us professionally and personally.

The future

By 2024, intelligent technologies such as AI will reinvent, digitize, or eliminate 80% of tasks within business processes and products from two decades earlier.

Industry 5.0

Today’s Industry 4.0 puts smart technology at the forefront of manufacturing. However, Industry 5.0 will increase collaboration between humans and smart systems. The expectation is that by 2030, more than 60% of all jobs will have faced great changes. While about 51% of jobs will be automated, machines will completely do less than 5% of today’s existing jobs.

Marc’s session follows his recent TED Talk and publications on the choices that we face today in shaping how our society of human+machine can live, purpose, and work, today and within ten years. The use cases in this session focus on how companies have successfully anticipated and reacted to the current situation. Also, how they are preparing to move from agility to resilience for their future. All in all that is not just a technology change; it’s a culture change with no way back…

Deep-Diving into AI & Industry 4.0

From Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0

Professor Bram Vanderborght from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) presents ‘From Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0‘. He argues that although we are talking more and more about automation, robotics, and AI, humans will stay just as important in the future.

The next revolution will come from combining the strengths of humans and robots. Therefore, Professor Vanderborght shows you examples of how the robotics research at the VUB is working towards this future. Besides, he shares some of the pioneering research in robotics.

Generating Value with Data Analytics in Smart Manufacturing

Marco Fliesser from Altair presents ‘Generating Value with Data Analytics in Smart Manufacturing‘. Increase shop floor efficiency by identifying hidden indicators for future downtimes in your manufacturing assets. Marco explores how Altair data analytics enables enterprises to leverage operational data throughout the complete data lifecycle – from the shop floor to the top floor – for increased value and reduced risk.
